Cinema night ‘TAPIS ROUGE’ w/ Eng. Subs + Cocktail – Lost in Frenchlation
June 2, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 11:30 pm
Following it’s global success on the international film festival circuit, Lost in Frenchlation is proud to bring you the crowd-funded half fiction, half reality ‘Tapis Rouge‘! Appropriately timed to coincide with the Cannes Film Festival – the final destination of the film’s amateur actors and troubled characters – this one is not to be missed!
The screening will take place at the amazing Studio 28 in the heart of Montmartre – Paris’ oldest cinema rooom which is also one of the city’s most iconic. Join us from 8pm for a film-themed cocktail available from the bar (€4.50, or €6.00 with a packet of popcorn) before the screening starts at 9pm. Tickets available on the door only – please arrive early to avoid disappointment!
‘Tapis Rouge is a film straddling reality and fiction, a kind of collective psychoanalysis that pushes its characters to reveal themselves shamelessly… The characters are a hybrid of a fictional world and reality, of a dreamed of world and harsh daily life… The stars of Tapis Rouge have the courage to explore their own inner worlds before the audience that becomes (an involuntary) witness to their problems and their dreams… A human adventure that is deeply moving.’
‘A street social worker fights his way into the tortured world of the young people in a Lausanne suburb. He helps them to write a film, and then does all he can to help them make their dream come true. This road movie to Cannes questions all the convictions of a social worker and those of a group of young people who have lost their way.’
Studio 28 is located on 10 rue Tholozé, Montmartre 75018 Paris. Tickets to the movie will be available on the night, please arrive early to avoid disappointment. 9€ full price; 7,50€ for students and other concessions.
Note: Studio 28 does not accept cards – please bring cash!
Lost in Frenchlation’s mission is simple – we want to bring world-renown French cinema to the international community in Paris by showing French films with English subtitles, and we want to be a hub for the international community to get to know each other as well as native Parisians.
